New for 2025 - U11 Competitive Changes

We're happy to share the changes coming to our 2025 U11 Competitive season! These updates, provided by the Eastern Soccer League (ESL), are part of a nationwide effort to help young athletes thrive—on and off the field.
A Message from the Eastern Soccer League
Dear ESL Member Clubs,
At our AGM on March 27th, we discussed the upcoming mandated changes from Canada Soccer to be implemented by 2026. To ensure a smooth transition, ESL membership have decided on a staggered implementation:
Key Changes
2025 Season: Changes will apply to the U11 age group.
- No standings, game scores, or playoffs in Divisions 1 and 2.
- One scheduled match and one scheduled training session per week.
- Clubs may offer additional training sessions, provided they align with Canada Soccer guidelines.
2026 Season: Changes will extend to the U13 age group.
What This Means
These updates represent a significant shift from the past 20 years, focusing on player development, enjoyment, and reducing stress from early high-level competition. Canada Soccer's goal is to create a more supportive environment for skill-building and fostering a love for the sport.
To offset the removal of playoffs, the league is exploring opportunities to host Jamborees in collaboration with member clubs. These events will provide fun, community-driven alternatives while encouraging participation.
